Orange hall is 'being used as a public notice board'

SECTARIAN graffiti has been painted on Rasharkin Orange Hall in an overnight attack.

DUP councillor for the area, John Finlay, hit out after residents yesterday discovered that 'Free [Colin] Duffy' and other slogans had been painted over the north Antrim premises.Mr Finlay said: "I totally condemn this latest attack on Rasharkin Orange Hall.

"We are told that we only see these things happen during the summer months; however it is now the middle of October and yet again we see Rasharkin Orange Hall being attacked."

Mr Finlay said the building is "being used as a public notice board and it is totally deplorable".

"I call on those responsible to stop and call on Sinn Fein to do more within their community to prevent these sectarian attacks.

"I appeal to anyone with information to contact the PSNI."

Last night, a police spokesman said they had received a report about fresh graffiti on the Main Street premises.

He said inquiries into the incident are ongoing and appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
