Finlay condemns attack on Orange Hall

BALLYMONEY Councillor John Finlay has condemned an attack on Dunloy Orange Hall on Friday night.

Anti-Orange and anti-Protestant slogans were painted over the hall.
Cllr Finlay has called on Sinn Fein to do more to stop these sectarian attacks and for the PSNI to step up patrols in the area.
Cllr Finlay said: "I totally condemn this most recent attack on Dunloy Orange Hall. The Orange Hall has been the subject of a campaign against anything Protestant that is left in the village by Republicans.
"I call on Sinn Fein to do more to stop these sectarian attacks and to offer leadership to their community instead of there normal stirring up hatred. It is no coincidence that this attack occured on the same night as the band parade in Rasharkin. Republicans say that their ideology isnt sectarian; they have yet to prove it.
"I also call on the PSNI to step up patrols in Dunloy to ensure that such incidents dont happen again. I call on anyone with information to bring it forward to the Police."
North Antrim MP Ian Paisley also slammed as despicable the recent vandalism of Dunloy Orange Hall.
He said: "This ongoing vandalism of a rural Orange Hall is completely unacceptable and I would call on those who know who is involved in such despicable and narrow minded attacks to hand them over to the authorities for punishment."
